What excited you most about choosing Creighton as your university?
I was excited to have an immersive education experience. I wanted to live and breath my education every day. Creighton’s Jesuit identity seemed to promote that mindset.
What opportunities at Creighton have made your experience unique and valuable?
The high point of my Creighton experience was participating in the Backpack Journalism program, during which students and faculty traveled to rural Alaska to film a documentary. It was a moving experience. I also valued my time working for The Creightonian. I learned as much as doing various jobs for that paper as I did in the classroom.
What do you think sets Creighton apart from other universities?
What sets Creighton apart from other universities is its commitment to educating the whole person. You’re not just a potential worker in need of qualification. You’re a multi-faceted human being. The Creighton experience revolves around the notion that a college education informs every part of oneself.
From your experience, what do you think are Creighton’s strengths in preparing students for their future?
As a JMC [Journalism, Media and Computing] major, I really appreciated the support I received from faculty. They went out of their way to help me find opportunities and prepare me for the realities of post-college life.
