Five Things I Love About Creighton …
Peter Goeckner, a recent graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences, has earned a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award and will spend 11 months teaching English in South Korea, beginning this summer. Goeckner majored in psychology and is from Burlington, Iowa.

1. St. John’s Church

“I think it’s the most serene place on campus and the doors are always unlocked. It’s where I go when I need to think or just relax. It’s a great space, even if you aren’t religious.”

2. Plenty of opportunities

“I think of Creighton as a land of opportunity. It’s encouraged and recommended that you get engaged and involved, and the things I’ve been involved in at Creighton have absolutely shaped me.”

3. Jesuit values

“I went to public school my whole life, so when I came to Creighton, it was cool to learn how it’s steeped in Jesuit values and it has a sense of mission. Because of that, I know why I’m doing what I want to do now, which is to be an educator.”

4. Location in Omaha

“Omaha is very relaxed, yet still has all of the perks of living in a big city. And there are so many incredible restaurants.”

5. Friends who will change the world

“I have so many friends who are going to change the world for the better, and it’s cool that I’m here learning with those types of people.”
