What excited you most about choosing Creighton as your university?
I had a mixture of excitement and fear about going to college away from home. I wanted a new setting for my college experience, somewhere far but not too far away from my family. It also had to be a place that could be my home away from home. When visiting Creighton for the first time as a senior in high school, I could see myself living here for the next 4 years. I had my doubts about moving to Nebraska, but Creighton gave off a very welcoming and personal vibe that not many big schools can give.
What opportunities have made your Creighton experience unique and valuable?
Since I am majoring and minoring in the humanities, the majority of my classes are fairly small, allowing every student in the class to have their voice heard and get the attention they need from their professors. It’s also a lot easier to have one-on-one interactions with professors, get research experience, and other opportunities to become prepared for life after college.
Personally, one of the highlights of my Creighton experience is being able to go to an archaeological field school in Cyprus with my adviser, Dr. Erin Averett, this past summer. I probably wouldn’t have had this opportunity if I didn’t go to Creighton.
