The College of Arts and Sciences is thrilled to welcome two new Alumni Advisory Council members: Erin O’Brien Beninato, BS’02, and Todd Ruskamp, BSMTH’85.
Erin Beninato received her BS in elementary education from Creighton in 2002. She has extensive experience in both public and private schools and currently works for the Omaha Public Schools District. She is an active volunteer and board member for nonprofit and educational institutions. Beninato and her husband, Greg, reside in Omaha with their two children, Evelyn and Joey.
Todd Ruskamp grew up in Dodge, Nebraska. He received his BS in math from Creighton in 1985 and his JD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1988. He and his wife, Marybeth, met in law school and have been married for 26 years. They have three children – Garrett, Matthew and Mia. They are active members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lenexa, Kansas. Ruskamp has practiced law at Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Kansas City since 1988.
We look forward to their guidance and knowledge on the council and we are so grateful for the generous gifts of time and talent that they share to help chart the course of the college. See the full list of the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Advisory Council members online.
Finally, we are deeply saddened by the death of longtime Alumni Advisory Council member Steve Wingert, who passed away in March. Wingert was a current student in Creighton’s EdD program and had recently begun working on his dissertation project. He completed his BA in psychology from Creighton in 1982. After a valiant fight, Wingert lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on March 19. He served on the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Advisory Council for two deans. His contributions to the college are immeasurable and he will be greatly missed. His full obituary can be found here.
