Lynne Dieckman began her research career as a graduate student at the University of Iowa, studying the structure and function of proteins involved in the replication of damaged DNA. As a postdoctoral scholar, she pursued her interests in DNA further by examining mechanisms of DNA silencing mediated by the packaging of DNA in then form of nucleosomes.
Her current research program focuses on the link between her graduate and postdoctoral studies — characterizing the protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions involved in replication-coupled DNA packaging into nucleosomes.
