Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences junior Kathleen Marinelli has earned one of the nation’s most prestigious awards for students in mathematics, science and technology. She was named a scholar in the 2017 Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program.
Marinelli, an Honors Program student, brings Creighton’s Goldwater Scholars total to 20 in the last 13 years, making the University one of the nation’s premier producers of Goldwater Scholars. Creighton continues to be a leader among U.S. Catholic and private institutions for the number of Goldwater Scholars produced.
Bailey Hassman, a sophomore majoring in neuroscience, and Jonathan Fleegel, a junior double-majoring in biology and neuroscience were awarded Honorable Mentions.
