Jim Simpson, BA’80 is president of strategic initiatives at Sirius Computer Solutions. In his role, Simpson is tasked with executive oversight of Sirius’ consulting and security organizations and leads its emerging technology initiatives including cloud, healthcare and mobility.
Simpson previously was president and CEO of MSI Systems Integrators, where he managed the growth and development of an organization that he had helped shape into one of the nation’s top IT business integrators. In 2006, his role in leading one of North America’s most successful technology integrators was recognized with the Executive of the Year Award presented at the VAR Business 500 Conference.
In 2007, Simpson was named as one of the Top 25 Most Innovative Executives by CRN magazine. In 2003, he was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Prior to joining MSI, Simpson held a number of key leadership positions during his 19-year career with IBM in sales and sales management.
Simpson is an active member in the community. He is a member of the World Presidents’ Organization and has served on the Junior Achievement and Completely Kids advisory boards. He also is the former chairman of the board of directors for the Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha and a current member of its advisory council.
An avid supporter of Creighton University, Simpson has served on the College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Council and, in 2016, was named Jaybacker of the Year. The Jim and Kathy Simpson Conference Room in the Championship Center is named for Simpson and his wife.
