Biography

Larry Hopp, Director of Creighton University’s Energy Technology Program
BS Civil Engineer from Iowa State University
40 years management experience in the construction industry

Education has been a passion for Larry throughout his career. He has been heavily engaged within the University environment, recruiting and working with faculty in the ongoing development of course content.  He served on Creighton’s Energy Technology Industry Advisory Council from the program’s inception and served similar roles over the past 25 years at Iowa State University.  Larry currently teaches senior capstone classes, sustainability in the built environment and other related courses at Creighton.  He served as a founding member of the Green Omaha Coalition where he spent the majority of his efforts with its Education Council.  He led the creation of the Connect2Engineering program, which was created to inspire area K-12 students to consider engineering careers. Throughout his career, Larry has carried leadership responsibilities in sustainability and energy conservation efforts.  He and his wife Linda have four children and 2 grandchildren.
